Coroner Identifies McCall Man Killed in Highway 55 Crash

BOISE, Idaho – The Ada County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the 30-year-old McCall man who succumbed to injuries following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 55 last week.

Cristian Mendivil of McCall died on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The cause of death was determined to be traumatic blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, and the manner of death has been ruled an accident.

The fatal incident occurred on Monday, June 16, 2025, near mile marker 119 in Valley County. According to Idaho State Police, Mendivil was driving a red Ram 1500 pickup truck southbound when his vehicle crossed the center line.

Mendivil’s truck collided with two northbound pickup trucks. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was airlifted from the scene to the hospital with critical injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles were reportedly wearing seatbelts and did not require hospitalization.

The Idaho State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Highway 55 was closed for several hours on the day of the incident to allow for emergency response and preliminary investigation.
